Amy Jackson’s mother’s name is Marguerita and her father’s name is Alan Jackson. They are an English couple from Liverpool. She has an elder sister Alicia who is also an actress. When she was two years old, the family returned to her parents’ home in the Liverpool suburb of Woolton so that her father could continue his career as a producer for BBC Radio Merseyside.
During the making of her debut Bollywood film Ekk Deewana Tha, Amy and her co-star Prateik Babbar came closer to each other. After being in a relationship for around 2 years, the couple split, allegedly due to Prateik Babbar’s late-night party. In 2014, she was in a relationship with Ryan Thomas, but the couple split-up after 7 months.
Amy Jackson revealed that she was dating hotelier George Panayiotou in January 2019, the son of English-Cypriot businessman Andreas Panayiotou. On 6 May 2019, Jackson and Panayiotou became engaged. Their son, Andreas, was born on 23 September 2019.
In the year 2010, Tamil film director A L Vijay and his team stumbled upon Amy Jackson’s profile on the Miss Teen World website. They subsequently cast the model in a lead role in the drama film Madrasapattinam (2010), opposite actor Arya.
Amy played the role of a British governor’s daughter and wowed fans and critics alike, winning a nomination for Best Debut Actress at the Vijay Awards. In 2012, the actress made her Bollywood movie debut with Gautham Menon’s Ekk Deewana Tha, a remake of the Tamil romantic drama Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (2010).
Although the film wasn’t too well-received, Amy’s performance was widely appreciated. Later that year, she reunited with A L Vijay, to play a supporting role in the Tamil film Thaandavam, with Vikram and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. Amy, once again, delivered a stellar performance and was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Tamil.
Amy Jackson then made her Telugu debut with the commercial hit Yevadu (2014). The British actress was then cast in Shankar’s high budget romantic thriller I (2015). Arguably Amy’s biggest project till then, the film opened to largely positive and mixed reviews, earning a whopping INR 225 globally. In 2015, she featured in the Bollywood action comedy Singh Is Bliing as well as the Tamil family drama Thanga Magan (2015). The actress boasted of a busy 2016, featuring in the Tamil action films Gethu and There, the tri-lingual horror film Abhinetri, and the Bollywood comedy-sports film Freaky Ali.
